I love this time of the night.

Everyone is asleep.

Well, except for me and Mom. My aunt, who is developmentally disabled is also asleep. She's mom's sister. The youngest of 3 sisters.

She can be loud, and I'm sorry to admit it, she can be quite annoying.

I put up with it, because I have to live here.  I don't have the money to live on my own, right now.

She's better than she used to be, man, when we were kids. It was pure hell, at times. When my grandfather died in 1979, she went into a full bore screaming fit. I still remember the scene in my mind, clearly, to this very day.

What I love is the quiet. I usually keep a fan on, to keep the air circulated in here, I sometimes also keep the TV, to keep informed and also, to dull the noise from my aunt, who does roar out at times. My mom calls it "talking", I call it "yelling". I'm not an jerk about it, at least I try not to be.

I get it from my grandfather, Who did have a bit of a nervous condition. He did at one time take medication for it, but quit, when he found out that he couldn't drink and take the pills too.

The stillness and quiet is so nice. The only noise in the room right now is, the fans from the cooling pad under this laptop and the occasional house "noise". I guess this house makes "settling" nosies. There's also the clicking of the keys from this laptop as well.

Is it mean to love this quiet? Is it wrong to long for this sort of quiet all the time? Believe me. If I could afford to get out of this house, and live in an apartment and know I could live comfortably. I would be gone tomorrow. I'm not complaining though, I've got a good arrangement here. I'm just like everyone else, the grass looks so much greener on the other side. That is until you have to water it.

But this quiet sure is nice.
